LUKE HAWKINS
MUSICIAN TEACHER COMPOSER
Biography
Luke Hawkins is a jazz pianist who graduated from Christ's Canterbury and went on to complete a Masters at Chichester University. An active performer he specialises in small group settings, including duos, trios and quartets.
He has been influenced by many players but especially the great Oscar Peterson, Benny Green and Billy Taylor. A recent sabbatical in New York has enhanced his repertoire and stimulated continued learning and exploration of all jazz.
In addition to playing and composing Luke is a qualified teacher who is available for one to one or group tuition.

Whilst Luke will continue to perform with local bands such as the Phat Beats Big Band & the Electro Jazz Orchestra, Luke is taking a brief hiatus from regular performing to focus on his duties as a full-time head of music at Philip Morant School & College, Colchester.
